Working Principles
- Resistive type: It is composed of a glass plate covered with a metal conductive layer and a resistive layer. There is an insulator between the two layers, and the upper layer also has an anti - scratch layer. When a finger touches the screen, the two layers come into contact at the touch point. The change in the electric field is recorded, and the computer calculates the coordinates of the touch point based on this. Then, the driver program interprets the touch action as an event that the operating system can understand.

- Capacitive type: There is a charge storage layer on the glass screen. When a finger touches it, part of the charge is transferred to the human body, resulting in a decrease in the charge of the capacitive layer. The circuits at the four corners of the display can measure the change in charge. The computer locates the touch position through the relative differences in charge at each corner and transmits the information to the driver program.
- Surface acoustic wave type: Transmitting and receiving transducers are placed on the X - axis and Y - axis of the glass panel, and reflectors are installed on the glass surface. The receiving transducer can determine whether the acoustic wave is interfered by the touch event and locate the touch position.
