touch panel, also known as touch panel, is an inductive liquid crystal display device that canreceive input signals such as contacts. lt allows users to interact with electronic devices throughthe touch operation of fingers or other objects on the screen. The following is a detailedintroduction to the touch screen:
1. Working principle:
-Resistive touch screen: lt consists of two layers of glass and plastic coated with transparentconductive substances, with fine transparent insulating particles in the middle. When a fingertouches, the upper and lower conductive layers will be connected, and when different places arepressed, the resistance values from the point to the output terminal are different, so that avoltage signal corresponding to the position of the point is output, and the coordinates of thetouch point are obtained after conversion. This kind of touch screen is low-priced and easy toproduce. it is often used in low-end electronic devices, but it has poor durability and generallydoes not support multi-touch.
-Capacitive touch screen: it is a four-layer composite glass screen. The inner surface andinterlayer of the glass screen are each coated with a layer of iTo (indium oxide, a conductivematerial). When the user touches, due to the electric field of the human body, the finger and theworking surface form a coupling capacitance, so that the finger absorbs a tiny current, whichflows out from the electrodes on the four corners of the screen respectively. The controllercalculates the four current proportions precisely to obtain the touch position. Capacitive touchscreen has high sensitivity, good light transmittance and multi-touch support. it is themainstream technology product at present.
-nfrared touch screen: A circuit board frame is installed in front of the display, and infraredtransmitting tubes and infrared receiving tubes are arranged on the four sides of the screen onthe circuit board to form an infrared matrix crossing horizontally and vertically. When the usertouches the screen, the finger will block the two horizontal and vertical infrared rays passingthrough the position, so as to judge the position of the touch point on the screen. The infraredtouch screen is not disturbed by current, voltage and static electricity, and is suitable for use inharsh environmental conditions.
- Surface acoustic wave touch screen: The electrical signal is converted into acoustic wave energythrough a transmitting transducer and transmitted on the screen surface. When a finger touchesthe screen, it will absorb or block the acoustic wave energy, causing an attenuation gap in thereceived waveform, The controller determines the touch coordinates according to the position ofthe gap. The surface acoustic wave touch screen can also sense the users touch pressure.

2. Application areas:
Consumer electronics: Smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc. are common application scenarios oftouch screens. Users can perform various operations by touching the screen, such as clicking onthe app icon, swiping the screen, zooming pictures, etc.-Industrial control field: in industrial automation control, CNc machine tools, intelligentinstruments and other equipment, the touch screen can facilitate operators to set parametersmonitor the operating status of equipment and other operations, and improve work efficiencyand convenience of operation.
Smart home field: Smart home products such as smart TVs, smart refrigerators, smart speakers, etc. have also begun to widely use touch screens, so that users can control various functions ofdevices through touch operation and realize intelligent control of homes.-Medical field: Medical equipment such as electrocardiograph, ultrasonic diagnostic instrumentelectronic medical record system, etc, use touch screen, which can facilitate doctors to operateand view patient information, and improve diagnosis efficiency and medical service quality.- Public service field: Most public service equipment such as self-service cash machines in banksself-service ticket vending machines in railway stations and self-service inquiry machines inshopping malls are equipped with touch screens, which facilitate users to perform self-serviceoperations and improve service efficiency and user experience.
